Operations Supervisor (Backshift)

Express Services | Fast-Paced Logistics Environment

Why This Role is Different

If you enjoy working in a fast-moving environment where no two days are the same, this is a great opportunity to step into (or build on) a supervisory role within a growing logistics operation.

As an Operations Supervisor, you’ll be at the heart of the action — coordinating deliveries, supporting drivers, solving problems in real time, and ensuring our customers receive a seamless service.

Whether you already have supervisory experience or are ready to take the next step in your career, we’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and thrives under pressure.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll play a key role in keeping the operation running smoothly by:

  • Coordinating collections and deliveries to meet customer expectations

  • Acting as a central point of contact for drivers, customers, and internal teams

  • Providing excellent customer service via phone and email

  • Managing real-time challenges and finding practical solutions

  • Using internal systems (including TMS) to manage and track operations

  • Completing driver debriefs and end-of-shift handovers

  • Supporting driver coverage for holidays and absences

  • Producing reports and updates to keep operations informed

  • Promoting a safe, compliant, and efficient working environment

Who You’ll Work With

You’ll be working closely with:

  • Drivers and warehouse teams

  • Customers, suppliers, and subcontractors

  • Day shift colleagues to ensure smooth handovers

Your role is crucial in keeping communication flowing and ensuring service continuity across shifts.

What We’re Looking For

We’re more interested in your attitude and approach than a perfect CV. You’ll likely have:

  • Experience within transport, logistics, or a fast-paced operational environment

  • Proven experience routing vehicles

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

  • The ability to stay calm and make decisions under pressure

  • Good geographical awareness

  • Confident communication skills and a team-focused mindset

  • Basic IT skills (Microsoft Office; TMS experience is a bonus)

What Success Looks Like

  • Operations run smoothly, even when challenges arise

  • Drivers feel supported and informed

  • Customers receive a reliable, high-quality service

  • Strong teamwork across shifts and departments

  • Clear, accurate reporting and handovers

What You’ll Get in Return

  • The opportunity to grow and develop within a supportive team

  • Exposure to a busy, dynamic logistics operation

  • The chance to step into a supervisory role (or build on existing experience)

  • A role where your decisions genuinely make a difference day-to-day

Working Hours

10:30am – 7:30pm (Backshift)

Additional Information

Previous supervisory experience is beneficial, but not essential — we’re keen to hear from candidates who are ready to step up and take ownership.

Salary: Negotiable (dependent on experience)
