Bullet Express is one of Scotland's leading transport and logistics providers, delivering first-class service throughout the UK. Due to continued growth, we are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Junior Transport Operator to join our busy Contract Services Team based at our Bothwell depot.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within the transport and logistics industry. The successful candidate will receive full training and support, with a structured development plan designed to progress them into a fully qualified Transport Operator position.

Working Hours

  • Monday to Friday

  • Rotating shifts:

    • 6:30am – 2:30pm

    • 9:30am – 5:30pm

  • Participation in a weekly on-call rota covering evenings and weekends.

  • Providing on-call support will be required; however, this support is for Bullet Express drivers only.

The Role

As a Junior Transport Operator, you will work alongside experienced members of the operations team, learning all aspects of transport planning, customer service, compliance, and driver management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the day-to-day transport operation.

  • Assisting with customer enquiries via telephone and email.

  • Monitoring vehicle movements and delivery performance.

  • Communicating with drivers, customers, depots, and internal departments.

  • Updating transport systems and maintaining accurate records.

  • Assisting with delivery and collection issue resolution.

  • Learning transport planning and routing processes.

  • Supporting compliance and operational administration tasks.

  • Providing excellent customer service at all times.

About You

We are looking for someone who is eager to learn, enjoys problem-solving, and wants to develop a career within transport operations.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrable experience working within a transport, logistics, customer service, or operational background.

  • Good computer skills and confidence using Microsoft Office applications.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.

  • The ability to remain calm and adapt under pressure.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Knowledge of Drivers' Hours Regulations and the Working Time Directive would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided.
